2017 /// Year in Review
In classic KNDM Co. fashion, my year in review post is right on time - just about a month late. DUDEEEEE. 2017. I don’t even really know what to say because it was the best ever. But I say that every year. Every year I think that there’s no way my work could improve more than it did that year or that my weddings couldn’t possibly top that seasons. But without fail, every year it does, and that makes me SO EXCITED for what 2018 holds.
The biggest thing to say about 2017 is that WE MOVED! Relocating my business was the scariest thing I’ve ever done. For almost two years, I experimented with what it could look like to be serving two markets, practiced traveling back and forth between CA and WA, and hustled so hard to get my name out there in Southern California. By the end of 2017, we finally felt ready to make the move, AND WE DID IT! San Diego feels like our home more than anywhere ever has. I feel more inspired, creative, motivated, content, healthy and joyful more than any other time in my life. We dreamt of this move for years and I couldn’t be happier. I feel like I'm truly thriving here more than anywhere else I've ever lived. Since we got here, I feel like I'm bursting at the seams full of new ideas and dreams. Which may have been the cheesiest thing I've ever said BUT IT'S TRUE. YOU GUYS, this sunshine is doing wonders on my spirit.
Even though we are living in San Diego, I am still taking Seattle weddings. I am SO excited for the opportunity to go back to Washington, visit friends and family, and photograph couples in such a beautiful place. My work will be pretty evenly split between both places as I’m growing my business down here and I’m super excited about that (so potential Washington couples - don't worry, I will still shoot your wedding!). I'm really enjoying this season of life of going back and forth between my two homes and having so much rich variety in the work I'm shooting.
2017 kicked so much ass. I had more fun shooting than ever before. My weddings were so fun and sweet and wonderful. So many incredible moments. It felt impossible to narrow down this gallery into a cohesive blog post, and honestly I probably failed miserably. I am just so attached to all the work I did last year. I'm so thankful for all the beautiful moments I got to capture. I did my best to create a highlight reel of those moments.
I need to say, thank you to all my 2017 couples. This job is the greatest privilege in the world and I wake up every single day SO EXCITED to create work I'm so passionate about for people I love so dearly. Thank you to all of you who make this possible, that this can be my JOB. I am so crazy about all of you - thank you for inviting me into your lives and trusting me to capture your special moments.
Because watching progress is fun, check out my year in review posts from 2015 and 2016!
I'm freaking ready for you 2018!
