32 North Brewery Wedding | Mycalia & Argus
32 North Brewery Wedding
MYCALIA AND ARGUS’S WEDDING AT 32 NORTH BREWERY OK OK OK. I’ve been so excited to share this one. It probably sounds dramatic, but sometimes you just feel destined to shoot a particular wedding. I remember getting this inquiry and thinking: I HAVE TO SHOOT THIS WEDDING. I knew it in my gut, that Mycalia and Argus were going to be one of my couples and it was going to be one of my favorite days ever. What I couldn’t have predicted is how close we’d become and the friendship that would ensue, but thats a topic for a different post, because this is all about Mycalia and Argus and their RAD celebration at 32 North.
Mycalia and Argus met after they both relocated to San Diego from New York. He proposed while they were on a trip through Greece (proposal #goals) and they planned the perfect celebration. The ceremony took place at the Torrey Pines Gliderport - where they take their family and friends when they visit San Diego from the East Coast when they want to show their new city off. :) The views of the cliffs and paragliders is such a stunning backdrop. Then they had their party at their favorite brewery, 32 North, and it was the perfect vibe to drink beer, enjoy some food truck grub, and dance the night away.
The wedding was FULL of personal touches: Argus handmade the ceremony arch and the “Til Death” light-up sign (check that out in the reception details!). Mycalia used her letter-press and designing skills and created all the paper goods herself (she is a badass and has an incredible custom letter-press business - Invitation Only Design - and she is making me such a paper snob because now I just want everything I own letter-pressed). For MORE personal touches: there were several homage’s to Argus’s Greek heritage, from a few special traditions during the ceremony, an incredible Greek food truck, and Mycalia’s delicate headpiece that made her look like a Grecian goddess.
This wedding was a perfect example of making your wedding day truly your own and creating a celebration that is a perfect reflection of your relationship together. Not following any rules or traditions just because you feel like you ‘have to’ and keep the things that feel important to you. I’m so glad to have these two as friends and also selfishly beyond thrilled I got to shoot their wedding because it’s one of my favorite galleries to date. :)
