Escondido Backyard Wedding Full of Family Tradition | Bella & Matt
escondido backyard wedding
Bella and Matt’s Escondido backyard wedding was full of sentiment and family tradition. Their celebration was somewhere extremely special to them and their family. This wasn’t any backyard wedding – this is Bella’s grandma’s house. The place where Bella’s grandma and mom both got married. Three generations of woman in this family celebrated their weddings on this same property on the top of a hill, with the same view overlooking Escondido in North County, San Diego.
Bella’s grandma also handmade her wedding dress – truly one of a kind!!!! I can’t imagine the labor of love and the time it took to make that dress from scratch, but it was the most wonderful gift to her granddaughter and was perfect.
We started the day at the Elfin Forest Recreational Reserve - a gorgeous park located in Escondido, a short drive from Bella’s grandparents property. The park served as the perfect place for their first look and couples portraits - bringing in the natural forest-y, trees, and wood elements she envisioned for her wedding day.
Bella and Matt met almost a decade ago in an online chat room. Living on opposite sides of the country, they got to know each other thanks to the help of phones and the internet. Finally, Bella’s mom went with her to the east coast so they could meet in person and they’ve been together ever since. Matt moved to California and they started their life together in San Diego with their adopted kitten Taco. After 8 years, they are finally married!!!
I had such an incredible time working with these two, and I want to thank Bella from the bottom of my heart for the most beautiful and thoughtful review!
“Brides and Grooms: Don't look any further, you have found your dream wedding photographer! One of the best decisions my husband and I made was hiring Kami for our wedding! When I first talked to Kami, it was over the phone and our conversation lasted 30 minutes. After I got off the phone with her, I called my fiance and said "we have to work with her!" I emailed her two minutes after I hung up with her to move forward with her as our photographer! From start to finish she was amazing to work with. She's funny, lively, so sweet and down to earth, and really made you feel good about taking pictures. And of course, she is an AMAZING PHOTOGRAPHER!! She gave us a preview literally the day after our wedding! I know the rest are going to be amazing because of Kami. Thank you Kami so much for making our wedding planning easier! I loved everything about you, and I hope we get to work with you in the future!”
