Palm Springs Wedding at Historic Cree Estate | Michelle & Jason
Palm Springs Wedding at Historic Cree Estate
We are so stoked that Jason and Michelle’s wedding at Cree Estate was featured on Wedding Chicks! Check it out!
Oh Palm Springs - you have my heart!!!! Michelle and Jason’s wedding at Historic Cree Estate was incredible. Michelle and Jason are such a fun couple and were a freakin blast to photograph. Michelle is one of the most expressive humans I’ve ever met, and capturing her big laugh, joy and tears is the kind of thing that makes me love this job so much.
Palm Springs weddings are always amazing, but it’s extra special with Jessica of Plan Prep Party and Arturo of AHR Florals designing + planning. The warm color palette was perfect for an October wedding but still felt bright and screamed Palm Springs. Jason is in the film industry, and one of my personal favorite details was the old VHS’s as ‘table cards’ (SO FREAKIN UNIQUE!). Another highlight was the Hello Penny Bar (apparently this was the first vendor Michelle booked and I don’t blame her). The bar is adorable and Michelle and Jason had their opportunity to get on the other side and shake up + serve some shots (and I myself may or may not have found myself behind there towards the end of the night….). It was such a blast and I love looking at these images and remembering how much fun everything was. And was it really a Palm Springs wedding if the couple didn’t end up in the pool at the end of the night? :)
Some words from the planner, Jessica of Plan Prep Party -
“This was a destination wedding in every way; Michelle + Jason live in LA and I am based in San Diego, so our planning process was destined to be one of a kind! Mapping out the celebration at the historic Cree Estate was extra special since no venue layouts or floor plans exist. The venue is spacious and can feel overwhelming, but by having a natural flow to the events of the evening and extra-large accessories like; the Photo Booth and Marquee Sign, monogram Letters, and of course the refurbished Globetrotter camper as their Bar, it was easy to create an intimate feeling, yet high-energy party! When it came to the guest tables, we played tic-tac-toe with a mix of rounds and square tables across the lawn. Michelle+Jason's guests were able to escape to a desert paradise of lush landscape covered in fruit trees and the infamous palms, all surrounding their private hacienda. With two pools on the property, inflatable flamingos were a must!
The goal was to combine the romance of fall with the free-spirited vibrance of Palm Springs. With pink linens, moody blooms, and candles in gold hardware it was a one-of-a-kind
Michelle and Jason were incredibly trusting when it came to the styling and vendor team. What was most important to them was the vibe, there was no theme, but an ambiance -- vacation mode with laidback luxury and a carefree celebration of their love.”
A few words from the bride, Michelle, and her take on wedding planning:
“Jason and I have attended A LOT of wedding in our lives (I’ve been a bridesmaid/MOH almost 20 times)! I’ve helped plan so many weddings that I kind of lost sight of what I wanted for my own. We knew we wanted a laid back California backyard type of wedding. We ended up picking Palm Springs (one of our fave weekend getaways + lots of great holiday memories ex: my nephews first steps!) for the great weather in October ( our favorite month of the year – so we wanted to add another reason to love it). We casually started looking at wedding venues online and Cree Estate was the first venue we looked up! We fell in love immediately and booked it that day!
I wanted warm, rich fall colors, but still that outdoor Palm Springs-y vibe. Jessica (and Arturo) really helped me get focused as I really had no idea what I was going for until she showed me visually. I had a pretty tight budget, but in the end I had all the things I wanted: Beautiful flowers, good drinks, good music, dancing under the stars, and our favorite people with us! We literally had the best time of our lives. We felt so loved by family and friends and it really helped us catapult our relationship to the next level.”
