Celestial-Inspired Wedding at Luce Loft

Ashley and Drew’s wedding at Luce Loft, San Diego was SO RAD. Luce Loft is one of my all time favorite venues and their style was perfect for the space. When Ashley and I first talked, we quickly bonded over our mutual love for Harry Potter, reading, and all things true-crime (murderinos, unite!). We clicked so quickly on the phone and I knew it would be such a great fit. When she described her celestial-inspired gem-toned wedding to me, I KNEW I had to shoot it and I knew we were destined to meet and become pals. I love these two so much and capturing their celebration was a blast.

From a photographers perspective - there were soooo many highlights that made me so creatively excited. Luce Loft’s vibe totally fit their wedding - a little bit edgy and industrial and sooooo gorgeous. I loved the bridesmaid’s mismatched gem-toned dresses and matching florals (they made their own bouquets!), the strong hexagon theme throughout, Ashley’s leather jacket art she painted herself (THIS GIRL IS SO CRAFTY), her ‘space barbie’ shoes, and the natural shapes and architecture of Luce Loft complimented it all so well. Not to mention Ashley’s nail art was a freakin CONSTELLATION - the wedding day was just filled with little details like that and it pulled it altogether so well. An absolute highlight for me was her getting-ready space - she found the coolest airbnb with palm walls and a view of the city and Coronado Bridge! It really adds soooooo much to have a cool getting-ready space - those shots of her in front of that palm wall are some of my favorite of the day. My last highlight I’ll mention… hearing the song “Cardiac Arrest” playing for their first dance - it’s one of my favorite all-time songs that I’ve never heard at a wedding. It’s definitely not your average ‘wedding song,’ and is totally a great example of how cool they are. ;)
