Sailboat Engagement Session off Coronado Beach

After being a wedding photographer for 6+ years, sometimes I think it’ll be hard to find anything new to do. But I can say I have never done an engagement session on a boat - which blows my mind because between Washington and San Diego I’ve lived by the ocean my whole life?! Emily and Aleko’s Coronado engagement session was so unique and fun and seriously creatively life-giving! Doing the session on the boat wasn’t just all for the ‘gram’ - Aleko is an AVID sailor (like races on teams!!) and these two spend a lot of their weekends on boats. It felt only natural to incorporate sea-life into their engagement session. They made a day of it and spent the day on the water with their friends, then I met them later for the session. I try to encourage my couples however I can to really relax and make a day of their engagement session even hours before the session begins, and these two took that SERIOUSLY! They were so relaxed and chill for their session after a day chillin’ with their friends, and it really shows in the photos. AND WE SAW DOLPHINS WHEN WE WERE OUT! After the boat, we ended the session on Coronado Beach at the sand dunes - one of my favorite places to shoot. Such a magical day and I love these images so much! It really is possible and so rad to get creative with your engagement photos and make them personal to you!!
